Dear friends of Building Tomorrow,
This is exciting.
We've just announced plans to embark on the most ambitious project in our eight-year history: Educate51k, a $12 million plan to provide a quality learning environment for nearly 51,000 out-of-school children in rural Uganda by 2019.
Educate51k unites our two key programmatic focuses: access and quality, and leverages the support of a network of partners: the Ugandan Ministry of Education and Sports, more than 300 rural villages across Uganda, an international community of funders, and YOU.
We’re thrilled to launch this new initiative, but there’s still much work to be done. Our team in Uganda has already picked up the pace and has plans to break ground on a new primary school every three weeks. (In fact, since August 2014, we've broken ground on schools #21-23 and are planning groundbreakings for schools #24-26.) But to stay on pace, we need your help.
With matching support through Educate51k - both financial and in-kind - your investment has been tripled. And on GlobalGiving's Bonus Day, it will be quadrupled.
Here's how it breaks down:
On behalf of the 51,000 children who will now have an opportunity to attend primary school, thank you for your ongoing support. We wouldn’t be at this juncture in our history without you.
