Last month, community members in the village of Kyeitabya, Uganda celebrated the completion & formal commissioning of their new school, the Building Tomorrow Academy of Kyeitabya, supported and designed by the University of Notre Dame School of Architecture.
Hear from Building Tomorrow-Uganda's former Education Support Officer, Apollo Muganiira, as he discusses what the celebration meant to him:
"It's a great day. It's a new beginning. Especially for achieving quality education. The community has received a facility which is a school classroom block and I think that it's going to facilitate in contributing towards the quality of education. And I also think that the community is happy because they are participating in celebrating what they have contributed, their physical involvement, the work they have provided. They are all so happy and everyone is happy.
...I'm so excited because this project has started from scratch and I can see now it has materialized into a real school."
