Report on Temporary Suspension building school work

By Bonyan Organization | Donor Care Department

Dear Sir/Madam

I am writing to inform you about the temporary suspension of school work at Bonyan School due to the recent earthquake that struck Syria and Turkey. We decided to suspend school work to prioritize the emergency response efforts and ensure that our resources are utilized to support the affected communities.

On February 6th, 2022, a powerful earthquake with a magnitude of 7.9 on the Richter scale struck near the border of Syria and Turkey, causing significant damage to buildings, roads, and communication networks. Thousands of lives were lost, and the damage caused by the earthquake is still being assessed. Recovery efforts are ongoing, and we stand in solidarity with those affected by this tragedy.

Given the magnitude of the earthquake and the impact on the affected communities, we have temporarily suspended building school work at Bonyan School. We estimate that it will take about two months for the situation to stabilize and for the affected areas to recover from the disaster.

As a school, we understand the importance of education, but we also recognize the urgency of the current situation. Therefore, we have redirected our resources to support the emergency response and recovery efforts. Our school facilities have been made available as temporary shelters for those affected, and our staff members are volunteering with relief organizations to support those in need.

We are committed to supporting the relief efforts and ensuring our resources are used most effectively. We will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates on our plans for resuming school work once the situation has stabilized.

We appreciate your understanding and support during this challenging time. If you have any questions or require further information, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Sincerely,
