Building a Brighter Future for Kiruru's Children

By Leigh Ingram | Project worker

Dear Friends and Supporters,

As we approach the end of another year, we want to take a moment to reflect on the incredible difference your generosity continues to make to the children and families of Kiruru, Tanzania.

What began as a community's determination to provide a safe place for their children to learn has grown into something truly special. When this project first began, our ambition was to help 100 children access education without the long and dangerous journey to neighbouring villages. Today, the school has already surpassed that original ambition, providing educational opportunities for more than 200 children.

But the real achievement goes far beyond the buildings themselves.

For families in Kiruru, having a school within their own community means greater peace of mind, more opportunities for their children and the confidence that education can become a lasting part of village life.

The dedication of the local community remains at the heart of this success. From the earliest stages of construction, villagers have contributed their own time, resources and determination to make the school a reality. Their continued commitment is what makes this project so inspiring.

Looking to the Future

Although we have achieved so much together, our work is not yet finished. As the school continues to develop, further investment in facilities and resources will help ensure that children can learn in an environment that supports their education and wellbeing for years to come.

Every contribution, however small, helps us build on the progress already made and support the community's ambitions for the next generation.

Thank You for Being Part of This Journey

To everyone who has donated, shared our story or supported the project along the way, thank you.

Your generosity has helped transform a community's vision into a lasting opportunity for its children. We are incredibly proud of what has been achieved together and look forward to sharing more of Kiruru's journey with you.

With warmest thanks,

Leigh and the Smart Villages Team
