Help build 2 safe bridges in Mekar Asih Village, Sukabumi, so children can reach school without risking the river. After flash floods damaged the main bridge, students and residents must take longer, unsafe routes across rocky water. Your support will help restore safe access to education, health services, farms, and daily needs.
The main bridge in Mekar Asih Village was damaged by flash floods, cutting off a vital route for schoolchildren and local families. Children now have to walk farther and cross rocky river areas to reach school. When rain falls, the water rises, stones become slippery, and the crossing becomes dangerous for the community.
Human Initiative, together with the local community and humanitarian partners, will support the construction of 2 safe and proper crossing bridges. Funds will cover construction materials, workers, technical coordination, field operations, monitoring, evaluation, and donor reporting to ensure responsible implementation.
The bridges will help children go to school more safely and help families regain reliable access to health services, farms, work, and daily activities. This project will reduce travel risks, reconnect the village, and support a safer future for the people of Mekar Asih long after construction is complete.
