By Development Alert | Project Leader
Dear Donor,
Thanks to your generous support, Development Alert today supplied food items to St. Bernard Mwenge Primary School in Tororo District to provide lunch meals to another 400 schoolchildren. This intervention supports our commitment to reducing barriers to education and encouraging more children to enroll, attend school regularly, and remain engaged in learning.
In vulnerable rural communities, the cost of meeting children's basic needs can place considerable pressure on families. When parents struggle to provide sufficient food at home, the prospect of sending children to school for an entire day without a meal can become another difficult challenge. Hunger may contribute to absenteeism, reduced classroom participation, and concerns about whether children can sustain regular attendance.
A reliable school feeding program can help make education more accessible and attractive to families. By helping provide lunch at school, we are supporting an environment in which children can attend classes with greater confidence, while parents gain reassurance that their children have access to food during the school day.
Today's food supply is intended to benefit another 400 learners, extending the reach of school feeding support at St. Bernard Mwenge Primary School. While meals alone cannot solve every challenge affecting enrollment and attendance, they are an important part of a broader effort to help children access and benefit from education.
We believe that every child deserves the opportunity to learn, regardless of their family's financial circumstances. By linking food support with education, we are helping build a foundation for stronger attendance, improved participation, and better opportunities for children in Tororo District.
Our heartfelt thanks go to our amazing donor for making this possible. Your contribution is helping create a more supportive school environment and strengthening the opportunity for children to learn, grow, and pursue their dreams.
