Build A Permanent Hub to Empower Communities

Thanks to your generous support, Development Alert was able to restore four community boreholes that collectively serve more than 2,000 people across four rural villages in Uganda. The repairs have provided immediate and practical relief to families who had been struggling to find safe and convenient sources of water.

The communities had experienced significant difficulties after their boreholes became unusable. Families were forced to rely on alternative sources, while women and children spent valuable time walking in search of water. For school-going children, these journeys could interfere with attendance and study time.

Your support helped us address the problem by facilitating the repair and restoration of the four water points. The intervention has brought clean water closer to households and reduced the burden associated with daily water collection.

Community members are now able to spend more time on productive activities, education, and family responsibilities. Improved access to water is also helping households strengthen hygiene and sanitation practices.

The restored boreholes are a powerful reminder that relatively focused community investments can create wide-reaching benefits. More than 2,000 people can now look forward to safer water access and improved daily living conditions.
