Centro Bonilla is raising funds to build a permanent Community Healing Center in Jayaco, Bonao (Dominican Republic). Our founder has donated the land, and we are now seeking support to construct the facility. The center will offer accessible mental health services, youth arts and music programs, and community support for families in need. Currently operating in temporary spaces, this project will create a stable environment serving 400-600 individuals annually.
There is limited access to affordable mental health services, confidential spaces, and youth programs in the communities we serve, along with ongoing economic barriers. Centro Bonilla currently operates in temporary spaces, limiting consistency, privacy, and capacity. While we have secured land in Jayaco, Bonao, we still need to build a permanent facility to meet growing community demand.
This project will create a permanent Community Healing Center with space for private therapy, youth music and arts programs, community workshops, and holistic wellness practices. It will allow us to increase service capacity, offer consistent weekly programming, provide confidential, trauma-informed care, and expand access to services for low-income families.
Within the first three years, the center will serve 400-600 individuals annually, support youth through arts programming, expand access to financial aid for counseling, and offer regular community workshops and resource distribution. Long-term, this project will increase access to mental health care, strengthen youth engagement, and support overall community well-being and resilience.
