Build a Nursery School in Rural Uganda

Project Update

We would like to thank GlobalGiving and our supporters for their continued interest in our project to complete a community nursery school in Naggalama, Lutengo Village, Uganda.

The project was initiated by a local family in 2024 using their personal savings to purchase land and begin construction of a nursery school. Significant progress was made during the initial phase, including completion of the foundation and partial wall construction. However, the project remains unfinished.

Current Status

Unfortunately, we have not yet been able to secure sufficient donations to move forward with the next construction phase. As of this reporting period, fundraising progress has been slower than anticipated, and available funds are not adequate to cover the costs of roofing materials, remaining building supplies, and labor required to complete the facility.

Due to this funding shortfall, construction activities remain temporarily paused while we continue fundraising efforts and seek additional supporters and partners.

Ongoing Need

The need for this project remains urgent. Families in Naggalama and surrounding communities continue to face significant challenges in accessing affordable early childhood education. Many young children must travel long distances to attend school, while others remain at home because transportation and school fees are beyond their families' means.

Completing this nursery school will provide a safe, accessible, and affordable learning environment for local children and help improve educational opportunities within the community.

Next Steps

Our organization remains fully committed to completing the project. During the coming months, we will continue to:

• Promote the project through fundraising campaigns and community outreach.
• Seek support from individual donors, foundations, and corporate partners.
• Share project updates and raise awareness about the educational needs of children in Naggalama.
• Prepare for construction activities as soon as sufficient funding becomes available.
