The young scholars at Catalyst Kids - PA Walsh need a garden for their play area! Help provide green space and garden access to local families. Kids, their parents, and their siblings can learn together about growing fruits and vegetables with your help.
PA Walsh - Catalyst Kids once had a thriving and beautiful garden to welcome students each day! Unfortunately, while families sheltered in place early in the Covid-19 pandemic, no one was able to look after the garden and it wilted by itself. The garden at PA Walsh is more than just plants - it's a community space where families can enjoy greenery and learn about home gardening. It's an invaluable opportunity at a school where many families don't have backyards or green space.
Creating a garden at Catalyst Kids - PA Walsh will provide a vibrant green space for our community. Catalyst Kids invites whole family participation, which means the garden will benefit everyone in the Catalyst family! The garden will allow scholars to practice motor skills, learn about the plant life cycle, and learn nutrition as they cook with their freshly picked produce!
The teachers at PA Walsh are ready to maintain the garden moving forward and just need some help starting it again! Students and teachers will maintain the garden year round. As part of the learning process, students can learn to clean and preserve seeds to use next year, creating a sustainable source of seeds for the garden.
