Build a Diagnostic Laboratory in Burkina Faso

Professor Serge Diagbouga, Senior Researcher and Director of Research specializing in Immunology and Microbiology and the Board Chair at Joseph Ki-Zerba University in Ouagadougou led a delegation to Konkourona to meet with village leaders and tour the diagnostic laboratory that is under construction.  KAFO and MSN leaders are committed to making sure that the laboratory will meet all national and international standards for excellence and wanted to obtain an expert opinion.

Professor Diagbouga had many recommendations to ensure that both the laboratory and the ophthalmology center will work well in compliance with government standards and the builder, Mamadou Tindano, immediately incorporated all of the recommendations into the facility design. 

The Professor also provided input into the cabinet design, furniture and equipment to be used in the laboratory and ophthalmology center.  KAFO and MSN look forward to there being a dedicated space for eye surgeries as well as dedicated rooms for preparation and recovery.

We are thankful to Professor Diagbouga and his delegation, and to the builder, Mamadou Tindano, for their willingness to travel from Ouagadougou to Konkourona for this evaluation, and for the many hours spent prior to and following the meeting reviewing regulations, floor plans, equipment lists and furniture designs.  We are also thankful for the quick implementation of recommendations to make sure the laboratory and ophthalmic center meet expectations for excellence.
