Millions of children in Ukraine have spent years living through war, displacement, loss, and constant insecurity. Many now face anxiety, depression, panic attacks, sleep disturbances, and long-term trauma that cannot be addressed through short-term aid alone. Parents and caregivers are also experiencing chronic stress and emotional exhaustion, while access to specialized long-term psychological rehabilitation for children remains limited across Ukraine.
This project will help establish and sustain a Childhood Rehabilitation Center in Ukraine focused on the long-term psychological recovery of children and families affected by war. The center will provide trauma-informed therapy, family counseling, creative rehabilitation programs, and safe healing spaces designed to restore emotional stability and resilience. The Center will also train psychologists, educators, and child-focused specialists across Ukraine to strengthen trauma-informed support.
The Childhood Rehabilitation Center will support more than 2,000 children and caregivers annually, helping families recover from the long-term psychological effects of war and reducing the risk of lasting trauma-related disorders. Beyond direct rehabilitation, the center will strengthen Ukraine's mental health infrastructure by developing sustainable systems of trauma-informed care and serving as a prototype for future rehabilitation centers across the country.
