Dear Integral Heart Family near and far,
Our school in Guatemala remains closed for now as the restrictions are still in place and the authorities have not yet decided to allow us to reopen even though the country has been essentially fully reopened since October 1 of last year.
Despite this on-going situation our kids and their families continue with their nutrition program as well as with their home school education, both Online and Offline.
We are delivering and picking up homework from our 83 kids each week. Luckily they live close to two central locations where our staff can meet up with their moms. These locations are also where we meet the moms to drop off the food baskets, in lieu of the nutrition program we had offered at our school.
And, we also forward a group of the moms ‘saldo’ or phone credit each week so that their kids can participate in online classes! You can see some photos below of our on-going efforts.
We are simply doing our part but you all make this work possible. No matter what, and even with the challenging economic situation we are all living through these days, you continue to spur on the trust in and love for the Integral Heart Family School Guatemala.
