Dear Donors,
Firstly let me thank you for your generouse donation to support housing for the less fortunate in Sri Lanka.
The grave economic and financial crisis that our country has been facing for overr 1 year has resulted in extreme price increases in building materials and labour costs. Currently, the economy is getting stabilised and hence, we are expecting the construction material prices to reduce as a result.
So we hope to commence on our project to build the first house for a less-fortunate family in the North-Central Province soon.
We have received LKR 900,000 approx. on GG for this project. Our budgeted cost for a house has increased to around LKR 3 million approx.
We have a shortfall of USD 7,000 approx. to support build one house as of the current prices in material and labour.
We hope we may be able to collect further funds during the next 2-4 months to build one house, so that we can commence construction during this year.
We will keep you posted once we commence on the project.
We have registered this project for the July Bonus Day which is happening on the 12th of July on the GlobalGiving Platform.
Only donations of USD 100 and up will count on Bonus Day and, the higher the donation, the higher the match! GlobalGiving's July Bonust Day campaig will begin on July 12,2023 at 9:00 EDT and will end when matching funds run out, or on July 12, 2023, at 23:59 EDT, whichever comes first.
The July Bonus campaign will have a Matching Fund of USD 400,000.
