Build 2 Classrooms and Toilets for 700 Pupils.

With the goal to bring quality education closer to communities most in need, Integrated Agricultural Association (IAA) will help  over 700 pupils in Mogni-Kouffen community in Foumbot area who do not have access and support in education, by building and equiping modern classrooms to ensure a conducive learning environment for children and teachers. IAA has done the building cost estimates for two classrooms and is in discussion with several people to secure funding and support.

Currently, there is inflation in Cameroon and everything is becoming more and more expensive, including building and construction materials, technical labour cost etc. To start with ground and foundation work effectively, we need to have 50% cash of $35,000 to make sure we can raise walls and put roofing to avoid being damaged by rain and strong winds. The existing structure which was constructed by the community has been destroyed by heavy rains and strong winds recently, calling for additional attention. Given that IAA cares deeply about the education of these children, plank classrooms that existed before have been modernized to be used for the main time while fundraising continues.

It should also be noted that Integrated Agricultural Association, had environmental education sessions with over 340 pupils in this village primary school and donated 5 trash cans to five classes to foster recycling practices in the classroom. The environmental education sessions focused on waste management, climate change and mitigation. Children were taught on the impacts of climate change, poor waste management, causes of climate change and what to do in their communities to protect the planet earth. Children promised to influence their parents to reduce the use chemical inputs on farms and how to turn organic waste into health soil. They promised to remind their parents that planting trees on farms and reducing burning of forest and or felling of trees will lead to improved soil fertility, and reduction in their carbon footprint on agriculture (green gass emissions).

With the recent destruction of old classrooms by winds, we need to act very quickly to restore learning in this community.
