Title: Access to Clean Water – Community Hand Pump Installed in Village Aaqli Hingorja, Islamkot–Sindh
Summary
Alkhidmat Foundation successfully installed a new Community Hand Pump in Village Aaqli Hingorja, Islamkot, Sindh, providing reliable access to clean drinking water for over 160 individuals. This initiative addresses one of the most critical needs in the drought-prone region—safe and sustainable water for daily use.
Story / Update
Communities in Islamkot, Tharparkar face severe water scarcity due to prolonged droughts and the lack of safe water sources. Women and children often travel long distances to fetch water, risking health issues and losing valuable time that could be spent on education or income-generating activities.
To ease this burden, Alkhidmat Foundation installed a hand pump in Village Aaqli Hingorja, ensuring that every household in the area has easy access to clean and safe drinking water. The pump was strategically placed at a central location to benefit all residents, particularly women, children, and the elderly.
This project not only brings relief to families struggling for water but also promotes better hygiene, health, and community well-being.

Direct Impact: 160 individuals now have access to clean and safe water.
Indirect Impact: Improved community health, reduced waterborne diseases, and enhanced quality of life.
