Clean Drinking Water Access in Azizabad, Tharparkar
In a significant step toward ensuring safe water access in underserved regions, Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan has successfully installed a community hand pump in Azizabad, Tharparkar. This initiative will provide clean and safe drinking water to over 140 beneficiaries, including women and children who previously had to walk long distances for basic water needs.
The project addresses one of the most critical needs of rural communities in Tharparkar, where water scarcity is a persistent challenge due to arid conditions and limited infrastructure. By bringing water closer to home, this intervention improves public health, reduces waterborne diseases, and saves valuable time—especially for girls and women responsible for fetching water.
This initiative is aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs):
SDG 6 – Clean Water and Sanitation: Ensuring availability and sustainable management of water for all.
SDG 3 – Good Health and Well-being: Reducing health risks caused by unsafe water.
SDG 11 – Sustainable Cities and Communities: Enhancing resilience and infrastructure in rural settlements.
Alkhidmat Foundation remains committed to creating long-term solutions for water access in vulnerable communities across Pakistan.
