Dear Donors

“Every donation brings us one step closer to ending up with early school drop outs”

Over the past few years you have invested in our children’s education by way of providing them their school fees and purchase their educational materials.

Children are preparing for their half yearly exams which are to be held in the 3rd week of December followed by their Christmas holidays. We hope and pray all of them will excel in their exams.

When we discuss dropouts, often we tend to work only with the “visible dropouts” from schools because it is easy to reach them. With our experience, SPPD considers the quality of education and finds when youth cannot attain quality education within the existing school system they will fail to continue and usually become unskilled labourers. We term them as “invisible dropouts” from education, not from school and such students should be prioritized in our selection.

Taking all these issues into consideration, SPPD targets students, who are less educated, poor, out of school and unskilled youth and provide them with vocational training / short term courses, help them gain practical work skills, increase their efficiency and enhance their employability.

We have legally registered our Organization under the Govt. Programme - Skill Development Initiative Scheme - Department of Employment and Training (DGET) and skill training in Paramedical have been started with 20 students enrolled to it so far. This will eventually help students in improving their potential productivity which will be an important tool for reducing poverty and in enhancing competitiveness and employability.

A special word of thanks to the donors of this quarter - Ms.Lynette Pittman, Therese Horsfield, Ms.Clare Bassett, Mr.Keshav Jowaheer and Mr.Mohasin Momin.

We have been overwhelmed by your support and we love this bond to continue in the years to come.
