By Daniel Marulanda | Project Leader
Hello dear supporters,
I hope everything in your lives is going well.
Since we are still raising funds for the project, this opportunity I am going to introduce you one of the 10 beneficiaries of the funds you have donated to us. Martha Elena Ocampo is one of the owners of Sabor y Delicias (Taste and Delight in English) a small business located in Comuna 13 in the city of Medellin. This company is made up of a cluster of female heads of households; therefore, they are constituted as a social corporation. The women who are part of this grouping have seen in this business the possibility to improve their quality of life from the labor, social, economic and personal side.
Sabor y Delicias's economic activity includes two production lines that focus on the development and marketing of the following products: candies made using natural fruits such as guava and gooseberry, and also they produce bread and pastries. With these products the company attends special events and provides snacks for other company's meetings.
As I told you in a previous report, Sabor y Delicias was one of the business created thanks to a project we developed on 2012 using grants resources from Diputación Foral de Bizkaia, but as you may know, to help people get out of difficult situations takes more efforts than a year of accompaniment. Last year, Sabor y Delicias received expert advice on sales techniques, as well as how to manage the business in terms of finance, marketing and productivity. With this new project we are seeking to prepare and make possible the commercialization of the delicious products they produce using digital channels such as Facebook or e-commerce platforms, so they can sell more of them to other areas of the city, increasing their customers and therefore their business income.
Once again I only have words of gratitude to all of you based on the confidence you have shown to this project, and I also encourage you to keep helping me to spread the word about this noble cause, so we can make our plans of business strengthening possible to these ten Colombian entrepreneurs, who made the choice to develop a legal activity to make a living for them and their families.
