The Barrio Planta Project will provide educational opportunities such as Computer Science and English as a Second Language, as well as technology access to hundreds of children in overlooked communities of Latin America in 2021.
Nicaragua is the second poorest country in the Western Hemisphere, and public school systems are drastically underfunded. Children only go to school for half a day, either in the morning or afternoon, and crucial courses relevant to today's global economy such as English as a Second Language and Computer Science are not included in the curriculums.
The Barrio Planta Project (BPP) provides supplementary educational programs to underserved communities that are focused on creating a more inclusive and effective educational experience for elementary school students who do not have the resources or access to private education programs. These programs are focused on instilling creativity, enhancing confidence, facilitating international communication, and developing critical thinking skills. so students can become self-sufficient adults.
This project will educate 5 students in 2022, allowing them to mitigate the impact of poverty on their futures and contribute to their families and communities.
