Thank you for light our lives

Thank you
Thank you

We are off grid and our light energy comes from fossil fuels and woods. GlobalGiving has been our platform to share the demands and support each other. Zeze village has benefited from what all of us have done toward lighting our homes and education.

"We didn't have lights at our school and the students studied during thte day time and in the night they haven't studied. the performances were very poor but we have improved it with the help of lights which help student have extra studying time. There is no Zero in the past two national examinaton results for Secondary Educaton. This is the positive impact to the Zeze School from lights distribution to the students" Mwandu the headteacher at Zeze secondary school said.

The market at Zeze is commonly full in the night after farm work during the day. There were fewer time and many loss cases following dark. But the businesses time has increase and reduced loss to venders. Robina says; No one liked dark but we used to adapt. The light is my second eye to my business. I have added more customers and improved the security of my businesses. I am proud of having the light to shine my table".

Kerosine and firewood has been the major sources of energy the situation which has changed a lot of having lights. "I use firewood and charcoal for cooking but I dont use kerosine for the lamp. I have already transformed my energy use by using solar light which is affordable and clean. I wish it would have been so powerful to cook but it can't. I use it to light the house and it encourages extra studies to my children". Shaban says.

The lights are good for eye health, environments and carbons emissions reduction however they are insuficient to quit the problem. The small donations you have done to MVG via GlobalGiving have been acknowldged for the changes it contributed to Zeze community and the environment.
