The Gaza Strip and the entire Holy Land continue to grapple with a dire humanitarian situation marked by hunger, disease in Gaza and very high unemployment in Palestine, caused by the lack of tourism in the country as of last Oct. 7. Pro Terra Sancta Association has been committed to peace building in the Holy Land for years with social projects in support of the local communities. Due to the recent events many are in danger now and need our support!
The current war continues to cause deaths and injuries, and the future of the people displaced from Gaza in the south of the strip remains uncertain. Everything is needed: water, food, clothing, medicine, psychological support to cope with the drama of a conflict that seems to have no end date. There is a great need of assistance both in Gaza and the Holy Land, where unemployment is skyrocketing because of the war and psychological trauma is increasingly evident.
Pro Terra Sancta carries out food and clothes distribution activities in support of Gaza population through local partners and association. In the West Bank and Israel we have several psychological support activities underway for both adults and children as well as cash-for-volunteering activities for those who cannot work due to the ongoing war. The situation requires us to field emergency-type activities, but we also continue to carry out dialogue and peace building activities for youth.
Working in response to the emergency, we intend to meet the basic needs of the Palestinian population. In parallel, in the West Bank and Israel, we continue to field peace-building activities with the aim of educating the younger generation in coexistence and dialogue, in peace and unity.
