Recapping the Bring on the Books Book Fair!

By Jessica Oliphant | Executive Director

On April 29, the Bring on the Books Foundation hosted its first-ever totally free book fair with the Charles B. Wang Community Health Center! We were able to provide books and snacks to over 60 families thanks to our sponsors: Scholastic, Powerhouse Books, and Bai Drinks. Our team members had the opportunity to read, draw, and play with adorable little readers! Check out some pictures from the event below!

Meet our new teammates:

Yorai is a first year philosophy major at NYU. Born in Israel, Yorai immigrated to the United States at a very young age. In order to learn English, and ground himself in the new country which he now called home, Yorai turned to his constant lifelong companions: books. Since moving to the U.S., Yorai has become increasingly interested in helping other young people find themselves and their interests through the magic of reading. In addition to being BoB's new Community Outreach Intern, Yorai is an active member of NYU's Mock Trial team, an amateur short story writer, and self-proclaimed chocolate connoisseur.

Angel is a sophomore from Long Island, New York. She's currently studying Media, Culture, and Communication at NYU. Her hobbies include admiring dogs that pass by her on the street, attempting to bake, and wasting time on the internet. A lover of stories, she is excited to be a part of the Bring on the Books team and have the opportunity to help foster a greater appreciation for books and literacy.
