During this reporting period, we took an important first step toward our goal of expanding literacy opportunities for children in the Peruvian Amazon.
We began implementation in one rural public school, reaching approximately 83 children with activities designed to strengthen access to literacy, reading, and learning opportunities.
This initial implementation is especially important in a context where many children in Peru continue to face significant learning challenges, as reflected in national and international education assessments. By starting with one school, we are able to learn directly from students and teachers, understand their needs, and improve the model before expanding it to additional schools.
Although this is still an early stage of the project, reaching these first 83 children represents a meaningful step toward our broader goal of supporting 1,674 children in the Amazon.
Our next priority is to consolidate the experience from this first school and secure the resources and partnerships needed to expand the literacy program to more schools during 2027.
