Bring Literacy to 1,674 Children in the Amazon

Dear supporters,

Thank you for following our project “Bring Literacy to 1,674 Children in the Amazon.” During this reporting period, we have been working in the pre-implementation (pre-launch) phase. At this time, classroom activities have not started yet because we are still securing the minimum funds needed to purchase/print learning materials and cover essential transportation to reach remote communities.

Even without implementation funding yet, we have been preparing the groundwork so we can begin quickly and responsibly once the first funds arrive.

What we have done so far (pre-implementation):

• Confirmed priorities and a phased rollout plan for reaching the target schools and communities.

• Prepared a materials and logistics checklist (literacy kits, printing needs, basic transport requirements).

• Updated our implementation plan, including simple monitoring steps to track participation and progress once activities begin.

Current challenge:

• Funding gap: Without initial funds, we cannot procure materials or launch the first implementation phase in the field.

Next steps (as soon as funding is available):

1. Purchase/print literacy materials and assemble learning kits.

2. Train local facilitators/teachers on the methodology and session plan.

3. Conduct a simple baseline reading check to measure starting levels.

4. Start sessions with the first cohort and share photos and early results in the next report.
