Thanks to your support, Karuna-Shechen is bringing light to remote mountain villages in Nepal that have been without electricity – until now!
The Chepangs and Tamangs are ethnic groups who live in remote, mountainous areas that are without electricity. In the village homes, dangerous karosene lamps provide the only source of light, making it difficult for villagers to do chores and for children to do homework after dark.
In December, 2018, Karuna-Shechen's solar technicians travelled to the remote Makwanpur district to bring light to Chepang and Tamang villages.100 solar home lighting sets were distributed and installed by our trained solar technicians, replacing dangerous kerosene lanterns with clean, renewable energy.
We are so grateful for your role in bringing light to these villages in Nepal! Below are pictures of the distribution and installation you helped make possible!

On behalf of everyone at Karuna-Shechen and the villagers we have helped, together, thank you!
