Hope and Resources in a Time of Need

Vicky is a cherished big sister who was born with Alagille syndrome, a rare disorder that affects the liver, heart, kidneys, and more. When Vicky’s family’s resources were strained, CCA’s Link program connected them with a Hope for the Holidays sponsorship that provided gifts, essential needs, and the ability to enjoy the holidays.
CCA’s Link program is a community network of caring people and organizations that unites local families facing serious pediatric illness with connections to local and national resources.
Other CCA programs that prescribe joy to families with seriously ill children and teens include:
- MusicRx®, CCA’s flagship music medicine program that soothes and rejuvenates hospitalized children, teens, their family members, and the medical professionals who care for them, by infusing the hospital environment with the healing power of music.
- MyMusicRx, the online extension of our original in-hospital program, where on any given day, 24/7, seriously ill kids and teens can play free online music games, explore digital instruments, record original music, and watch exclusive video greetings from their favorite artists.
- Chemo Pal® Mentor Program, an award-winning program that gives kids a trusted friend to look forward to during treatments and someone in their corner when they need it most.
- The Alexandra Ellis Caring Cabin™, a 24- acre, secluded home along the Pacific Coast which provides families of children and teens facing cancer and terminal illnesses an extraordinary place to relax and create once-in-a-lifetime memories.

Nate and Samantha
Meet Nate and his sister, Samantha, who needed an easy way to get a little cardio exercise to help with Nate’s cystic fibrosis. CCA’s Link program stepped in and was able to provide the siblings with fun karate classes.
CCA’s Link program is a community network of caring people and organizations that unites local families facing serious pediatric illness with connections to local and national resources. We help families with specific, essential needs, from providing a child with a new pair of eyeglasses to granting the wish of a child with a terminal illness.
- MyMusicRx, an online extension of our original in-hospital program. Kids and teens facing a serious illness across the country can register to receive free music medicine at MyMusicRx.org. On any given day, 24/7, they can play free online music games, explore digital instruments, record original music, watch exclusive video greetings from their favorite artists, and connect with other youth.
- Chemo Pal® Mentor Program, an award-winning program that pairs children and teens one-to-one with compassionate adults who offer supportive relationships throughout chemotherapy or other treatments.
- The Alexandra Ellis Caring Cabin™, which provides children and teens facing cancer and terminal illnesses that are in treatment in Oregon, along with their families, an extraordinary place to relax and create once-in-a-lifetime memories.

For Jack and his family, a stay at The Alexandra Ellis Caring Cabin™ provided a priceless opportunity to spend quality time with family, away from the confines of a hospital. The cabin became a place of joy, happiness, adventure, and healing for a family in need of a break from the outside world.
Located on 24 wooded acres near Pacific City, this unique, secluded home is surrounded by a beautiful white sand beach, lakeside fire pit, and a serene, private lake for kayaking, boating, and fishing. The Alexandra Ellis Caring Cabin provides children and teens facing cancer and terminal illnesses that are in treatment in Oregon, along with their families, an extraordinary place to relax and create once-in-a-lifetime memories.
