The Children's Cancer Association (CCA) knows that for seriously ill children and their families every moment is precious. That's why our programs leverage music, nature, friendship, and resources to create transformative moments of joy for 35,000 children, teens, and their family members each year. Unlike many organizations dedicated to the worthy goal of someday finding a cure for cancer, CCA is all about creating joy today.
Few things are as devastating as a child diagnosed with a life-threatening illness. Young patients and their families are quickly thrust into an unfamiliar and often frightening world of medical decisions and hospital protocols. At the same time, they are coping with emotional upheaval and financial anxiety. Their needs go well beyond what even the best medical care can provide. Founded more than 19 years ago by a family who has been there, CCA is the voice of experience, compassion and hope.
CCA offers free award-winning programs and resources to seriously ill children, teens and their families. MyMusicRx offers the healing power of music. The Chemo Pal Mentor Program provides a trusted adult friend during treatment. NatureRx offers a series of immersive outdoor adventures designed specifically for teens and young adults. Link provides families with essential needs support. The Alexandra Ellis Caring Cabin provides an extraordinary place to retreat and relax.
Your gift will allow us to make a powerful difference in the lives of thousands of seriously ill children and their families. All of our programs, resources and services are delivered free of charge and made possible through individual, corporate and foundation support; we receive no state or federal funding.
