Akili Girls in Class
Dear friend,
I hope you are keeping well during this pandemic.
I want to thank you so much for partnering with us to bring underprivileged girls back to school in rural Kisumu, Kenya. Thanks to your generous contribution, we together raised $1,641 which has enabled us to bring back our candidate class (8th graders) to school since October. With your support, we have purchased food, menstrual hygiene products, stationery and are paying our teachers and support staff as they prepare our girls for the primary school exit exams scheduled for March 2020. We are also offering life skills training and psychosocial support to girls from our partner schools.
We have also installed handwashing stations and purchased face masks for the girls. We can't thank you enough for partnering with us to create access to education for the rural girls who need it most.
As we wait for the rest of the students to reopen school in January 2021, it is our hope that despite these uncertain times, we will continue to mobilize the much needed resources to empower girls in our community. Thank you for walking this journey with us. God bless you richly!
