This project will help vulnerable families in 10 rural villages in Kamuli District, Eastern Uganda, gain access to safe and reliable water sources. By improving access to clean water, the project will reduce the risk of waterborne diseases and lessen the long daily journeys families make to collect water, thereby improving health and well-being in these communities.
Many families in 10 rural villages in Kamuli District in Eastern Uganda lack reliable access to safe water. Families often travel long distances to collect water, taking time away from school, farming and work. Some households rely on unsafe water sources, increasing the risk of waterborne illnesses. Women, children and other vulnerable community members are especially affected. This project will address these challenges by providing reliable community boreholes.
Aim Born Champions Children Africa will drill and install community boreholes in 10 rural villages in Kamuli District. The project will cover drilling, equipment, installation and related costs needed to establish functional water sources. Community members will participate in selecting suitable locations and maintaining the facilities. By bringing safe water closer to families, the project will reduce long journeys to collect water and improve access to reliable water for daily household needs
The project will provide lasting access to safe, reliable water for communities in 10 villages. Functional boreholes will reduce the time families spend collecting water, allowing children to spend more time in school while adults focus on farming and other productive activities. Improved water access will also support better hygiene and healthier living conditions. Community involvement in maintaining the boreholes will help ensure that the benefits continue for years to come.
