Over the past three months, Cepac’s dental clinic has continued to be a space of care, listening, and transformation for children and adolescents living in situations of social vulnerability in Barueri. With each appointment, we treat not only teeth, but also insecurities, long-standing pain, and fears that often accompany those who have never had regular access to a dentist. This ongoing work has strengthened preventive habits and helped build a more positive relationship with personal health.
“M.”, 9 years old, arrived shy and avoiding her smile. She felt discomfort while chewing and embarrassment when speaking. With continuous follow-up, she received the necessary treatment and began participating in educational activities about brushing and self-care. Little by little, her smile returned — first subtle, then spontaneous. Today, she reminds her peers about the importance of brushing their teeth after meals and shows greater confidence in her daily interactions.
During this period, 30 dental appointments were carried out. Each visit represents more than a clinical procedure: it is the guarantee of a basic right and an opportunity to strengthen self-esteem, well-being, and quality of life. The project continues to be fully funded by Cepac, reaffirming its commitment to providing consistent and dignified care to the children who need it most.
