Progress Report – Literacy and Nutrition Program in Piruaj Bajo

Over the past six months, in the Indigenous community of Piruazbajo, located in northern Argentina, we have implemented a literacy program for 40 children who previously didn't know how to read or write. Alongside this educational initiative, we provided a daily healthy snack to support their growth and well-being.

This intervention was particularly important given the local context: in Piruazbajo, many children go to bed without dinner, and the community’s diet is extremely unbalanced. Families have little or no access to fruits or vegetables; their meals are limited mainly to meat, noodles, and rice.

The healthy snack we offered was not only a much-needed dietary supplement, but also an opportunity for children to grow in a healthier and more balanced way. As a result, during these past six months, the children not only learned to read and write but also improved their nutrition.
