Following the creation of a literacy program and music workshop for 60 children in Piruaj Bajo, Cynnal now plans to provide healthy snacks. In this area, many children face serious nutritional issues. Their families can only afford a light breakfast (tea and bread) and lunch, always leaving them to bed without dinner. This initiative supports their growth, health, and learning through improved daily nutrition.
The children of Piruaj Bajo are not growing up healthy because their families cannot afford adequate nutrition. Their diet typically includes only tea and bread for breakfast and a lunch based on meat and starches. Fruits, vegetables, dairy, and cereals are unavailable in the area. As a result, their diet is high in carbohydrates and meat from domestic animals or wild game. This leads to weak immune systems, skin issues, fragile bones, low muscle mass, and cognitive development problems.
Cynnal will provide a healthy daily snack to the 60 children participating in the literacy program and music course. This snack will include fruits, cereals, milk, yogurt, nuts, and honey-foods rich in nutrients that their families cannot afford or access. By receiving these essential nutrients, the children will have the opportunity to grow up healthier, with stronger bodies and better overall development.
By improving the daily nutrition of children in Piruaj Bajo, this project will contribute to healthier physical and cognitive development.
