Bridge generations, building resilient communities

Hello, dear Baba supporter,

greetings from our repeated summer workaction! 

We are thankful for the continuing support from you and all the other Baba supporters of our urban-rural bridging. It gives us a sense of stability and meaning!

There are two rural news, which we would like to keep you updated about:

Together with our new rural revitalizing partners from Uzunite Foundation, as part of the Culture Moves Europe program, we are just about to start in September a 21-day artistic residency in Dyulevo village (Srednogorie region), focused on the cultural heritage and discoveries around the topic of the harvest season. Four foreign visual and multidisciplinary artists will co-create an artistic piece and research the cultural fabric of this village through their own artistic and research lense. At the end we will have a community gathering and celebration of the residency results. We will share them in the next report!

September is also the starting point of the Expert Residency in Salash village, which we shared in the last report about! Three selected exprets will spend 2 weeks in the village, working on three specific topics and needs, harvested from the local community after personal interviews, a questionnaire and a World Cafe discussion in June!

The topics:

- water sovereignty and restoration of natural spring and fountains (cheshmi);

- mapping and revitalization of key cultural heritage sites, rituals and Turlak speech;

- restoration of key eco paths and touristic routes.

The process will continue 3 months after the residency itself, since the experts will be engaged in a long-term solution development and co-creation with the local community and stakeholders. Stay tuned!
