Every year thousands of premature babies in Kazakhstan are at risk of death or lifelong disability due to the lack of modern neonatal equipment in maternity hospitals and perinatal centers. Through the "Breath Life" project, our Foundation equips hospitals across the country with life-saving medical equipment, giving vulnerable premature newborns a real chance at survival and healthy development - continuing our 18-year mission that has already helped halve neonatal mortality in Kazakhstan.
Every year in Kazakhstan, thousands of premature babies face life-threatening risks due to the lack of modern neonatal equipment in maternity hospitals, perinatal centers, and children's hospitals. Many facilities still use outdated or insufficient devices for respiratory support, temperature regulation, and vital monitoring. This leads to higher rates of infant mortality and long-term disabilities among premature newborns - one of the most vulnerable groups in the country
The "Breath Life" project equips maternity hospitals and perinatal centers across Kazakhstan with high-quality, modern neonatal equipment - including ventilators, incubators, patient monitors, resuscitation tables, and CPAP systems. By pooling donations, AYALA Foundation purchases and delivers essential life-saving devices to hospitals in need. This enables doctors to provide timely, professional care to premature babies, directly increasing their chances of survival and healthy development.
This project will contribute to the sustainable reduction of neonatal mortality and disability rates across Kazakhstan. Equipped hospitals will be able to provide quality care to hundreds of premature babies annually, strengthening the national neonatology system. Long-term, it supports Kazakhstan's progress toward UN Sustainable Development Goals, saves lives, reduces the burden on the healthcare system, and gives more children the opportunity to grow up healthy and thrive.
