Help a Child Heal, Grow and Thrive

By JACKSON AMEH | Project Leader

Behind Every Student Is a Story

A child who becomes withdrawn may be carrying a burden nobody sees.

A student who suddenly struggles academically may be dealing with fear or emotional distress.

A young person who becomes aggressive may be responding to experiences they do not know how to process.

Bullying, violence, harassment, and abuse can have serious consequences for children's emotional wellbeing. Yet conversations about mental health and trauma are often difficult because of stigma, misconceptions, and limited access to appropriate support.

This is why our Protecting Students from Bullying & Violence project is combining prevention with emotional support.

We are engaging students in schools in Makurdi to help them understand bullying, violence, gender-based violence, emotional wellbeing, and healthy ways of managing conflict and difficult emotions.

But we want to do more.

Our goal is to provide psychosocial support to 150 vulnerable students, while strengthening the capacity of teachers and counselors to identify concerns and connect students with appropriate support.

We also plan to establish 20 peer-support clubs, giving students opportunities to encourage one another, promote positive relationships, and contribute to safer school communities.

Your donation can help us reach a student who may be struggling silently.

It can help create a safe conversation where a child feels heard instead of ashamed.

It can help a teacher recognize when a student needs support.

And it can help build a school environment where seeking help is seen as a sign of courage—not weakness.

Children should not have to face bullying, violence, or emotional distress alone.

With your support, we can help vulnerable students find hope, build resilience, and regain confidence in their ability to learn and thrive.

Please support this project today.

Together, we can help ensure that no child has to suffer in silence.
