GlobalGiving Report: Update on Key Activities

By Joy Okoronkwo | Community Manager

Introduction

We’ve entered the second half of 2025 with renewed clarity and commitment to our vision: building safe spaces and powerful systems of support for African women to grow, lead, and heal. From mentorship and storytelling to wellness and financial empowerment, She-EO is expanding its reach—intentionally and impactfully.

Key Activities & Mid-Year Progress

Reinforcing Safe Spaces

So far this year, we’ve deepened our focus on safe, judgment-free spaces—both physical and virtual. From our RISE by She-EO event in Washington, D.C., to our Sister’s Circle gatherings online, more women are stepping into community with trust and openness.

Participant feedback confirms that these spaces continue to be a lifeline for many—especially those facing reproductive trauma, divorce, and other personal challenges.

Mentorship & Capacity Building

Our flagship program—now rebranded as the HERfrica Fellowship has officially launched.

  • We completed the application and interview process in June.

  • 10 women entrepreneurs across Nigeria were selected for the 2025 cohort.

  • Fellows are now completing onboarding forms and agreements, with orientation set for late July.

  • Mentorship matching is underway, with experienced leaders ready to walk alongside each fellow through tailored guidance and emotional support.

In the coming months, fellows will participate in structured monthly sessions covering business growth, resilience, leadership, and access to capital.

Community Engagement & Expansion

This year, we’ve grown our network of mentors, facilitators, and support partners to better serve the women in our programs. We are actively laying the groundwork for deeper outreach to women in rural and underserved areas, with particular attention to agricultural entrepreneurs and women-led social enterprises.

Updated Strategies for 2025 & Beyond

  • HERfrica Fellowship (Live): Running from July to November 2025, including a Final Showcase

  • Mentorship Expansion: Matching with seasoned leaders across various sectors

  • Sister’s Circle Events: Ongoing throughout the year, offering safe spaces for shared healing

  • NUMA Outreach: Launch planned for Q4 to support women through miscarriage, infertility, and NICU journeys

  • RISE by She-EO Lagos and a retreat in Uyo, Nigeria are in the works for later this year

  • Feedback Loops: Built into each program to refine and personalize participant experience

Our Vision for Long-Term Impact

At She-EO, we’re building more than programs—we’re building a movement. One where African women can lead boldly, speak freely, and live fully. We see a future where no woman walks alone, and where healing is just as valued as growth.

Conclusion & Call to Action

The work is in motion—and your support keeps it alive. We are so grateful to each donor who has helped us create room for women to rise, speak, and build lasting change.
