HOW YOUR SUPPORT TRANSFORMS LIVES

By Fauza Mwanamisi | Director

The Fauza Foundation continues to focus on Education as one of its key transformational pillars. We have been able to positively impact the lives of learners from disadvantaged backgrounds by ensuring that they not only access education but also transition smoothly across various levels of learning.

This report provides an update on the progress made so far for the first quarter, the activities currently underway, and the plans for the coming months.

Current Achievements

  1. Keeping Learners in School
    • The Foundation has sustained its efforts in supporting primary and secondary school students through tuition assistance, provision of school supplies, and mentorship.
    • Continuous follow-ups with school administrators and parents have helped ensure that learners remain enrolled and motivated to complete their studies.
  2. Supporting O-Level Graduates in Transition
    • One of our major milestones this year has been the successful transition of learners who completed their O-levels to higher learning institutions.
    • The Students have now been fully admitted to various universities across Kenya. This marks a significant step in their educational journey and a testimony to the impact of donor support.
    • These learners come from families that otherwise would have struggled to afford higher education. Their admissions mean not just hope for them, but also transformation for their families and communities.
  3. Mentorship and Guidance
    • Beyond financial support, the Foundation has organized sessions on career guidance, life skills, and personal development for learners in both secondary schools and universities.
    • These sessions are crucial in helping young people align their academic journeys with their career aspirations.

Future Plans

  1. Expansion of University Support
    • As students transitioning to universities, we aim to expand our scholarship support to cover a wider area than just tuition fees.
    • Plans are underway to introduce mentorship programs led by professionals to guide university students on career pathways.
  2. Vocational Training Support
    • Recognizing that not every learner follows the academic route, the Foundation intends to support students who opt for technical and vocational training. We are currently working with 5 learners to take up such courses, and they didn’t meet the threshold for transitioning to Universities.
    • This will ensure that all learners have opportunities to develop skills and secure sustainable livelihoods.
  3. Upcoming GlobalGiving Matching Campaign
    • While our focus remains on reporting impact, we would like to highlight that Fauza Foundation will be participating in the upcoming GlobalGiving Matching Campaign. This initiative will allow donors’ contributions to go even further in transforming the lives of learners.

Gratitude to Donors

The achievements highlighted above would not have been possible without the generosity and trust of our donors through GlobalGiving. Every contribution made has directly impacted a child’s education journey—whether by keeping them in school, enabling them to transition to university, or preparing them for future careers.

On behalf of the Fauza Foundation and the learners we serve, we extend our deepest gratitude. Together, we are building a future where education is not a privilege but a right for every child.
