Families in Goma, Democratic Republic of Congo, continue to face serious challenges accessing safe drinking water. Women and children are often the most affected, spending hours searching for water and facing increased risks from unsafe sources. Our project aims to address this urgent need by developing five solar-powered boreholes in vulnerable neighborhoods, each designed to serve more than 2,000 people.
We are currently in the preparation and resource-mobilization phase, including the identification of trainers, learners, local partners, and communities that will participate in the project. Our fundraising goal is US$750,000, and we have already received our first US$27 through GlobalGiving. This is a small but meaningful beginning, and we are grateful to every donor who has supported us.
With continued support through our collaboration with GlobalGiving, we believe we can reach our fundraising goal and bring safe, reliable water closer to thousands of families.
