Dear supporters,
In the rural area of Pirsaddi, District Mardan, Pakistan, resides an extraordinary man named Hayat-Gul. He works as a gatekeeper in a local private school, on a monthly salary of Rs. 5500/- (19.99 USD). Despite his limited means, Gul holds one dream close to his heart: to provide his daughters with the education he couldn't pursue.
Gul's own schooling ended after Grade 5 when he had to start supporting his family. However, he is determined to ensure his daughters receive the education they desire. He firmly believes that education can unlock their potential and pave the way for a better future.
After fulfilling his duties as a gatekeeper throughout the day, Hayat Gul dedicates his spare time to tending to his cattle at home, working hard to meet his family's basic needs. His tireless efforts reflect his unwavering commitment to create a brighter path for his loved ones.
Gul is a proud father of two daughters. Recently, one of his daughters achieved a master's degree, which brought immense joy to his heart. He worked day and night to make this accomplishment possible, overcoming every obstacle in their path. However, his younger daughter's education had come to a halt after completing high school as his age and health conditions do not allow him to afford the high transportation charges required to send her to a far-located college.
In this challenging situation, a glimmer of hope emerged. The establishment of Yasmin Bibi Girls College in their area has renewed Hayat Gul's optimism. He now sees an opportunity for his younger daughter to pursue higher education, filling him with renewed confidence that she, too, can broaden her horizons and shape a brighter future.
Gul's story is a testament to the unyielding spirit of individuals who face adversity with unwavering determination. His relentless efforts to provide his daughters with an education he couldn't have himself serve as an inspiration to us all. It reminds us of the transformative power of education and the incredible impact it can have on future generations.
As we celebrate Father's Day, let us honor our fathers by making a difference in the lives of others by educating a girl at Yasmin Bibi Girls College, contributing to the journey of knowledge and empowerment.
