I was a Sari (IWAS) - an award-winning sustainable fashion brand -, Fondazione Pianoterra Onlus and CHIME FOR CHANGE have partnered to make sustainable fashion and the work of the artisans from grassroot communities more reachable and the products they make more desirable.
Women are often confined to traditional roles, having little or no education and no opportunities to come out of the difficult life they have. It is extremely important to bring out the story how with the right opportunities and training, their lives can be transformed. And the world in turn, needs fashion that empowers its creators. The women working in the project for I was a Sari deserve to showcase to the world their beautiful products, and to share their beautiful journey with the world.
Fondazione Pianoterra Onlus will support the execution of the project with a team of experts in Italy consisting of art director, visual and verbal communication strategist, copy writer, photographer, social media specialist, who can work on overhauling the brand communication and streamlining the communication across the channels.
IWAS with the right communication can reach out to thousands of more potential customers thereby increasing the demand for the work done by these women artisans, providing them with regular income that can help build a better future for them and their families. And also include many more women with no skills and opportunities to become a part of the project and transform their lives.
