The Boys & Girls Clubs of St. Charles have 6 FIRST Robotics teams, which have been working hard representing our two Clubs on the competition field and at different STEM Expos.
Teams just competed in the FIRST Robotics St. Louis Regional Championship at the Chaifetz Arena in St. Louis. The competition, "Destination: Deep Space" allowed our members to showcase their robot and compete against many peer groups. We are so proud of their success at the event where our FRC team #7435 Cybertronics received a prestigious Rookie Inspiration Award for team's outstanding "Beyond this World" STEM outreach campaigns.
In April our teams will be participating at Sea Perch Underwater Drone Super Regional Competition at Pattonville High School in St. Louis. Additionally we will have an information table about STEAMBOTICS ACADEMY/BGCSTC, where we will be talking about the World Robotics Olympaid competition and showcasing our robot. We are excited to host the World Robotic Olympaid event at our St. Charles location in May.
We are also kicking off a new propram "Engineering Girl" for girls ages 6-8 who are currently not involved in STEAMBotics. This introduction to engineering principals and design process helps to spark interest and increase engagment in STEM activities. The program will run for 6 weeks at the St. Charles location starting in April.
Last but not least, we are gearing up for a full summer with members through Summer Blast. We will again offer multiple opportunities for members of all age groups to participate and showcase their accomplishments.
