As summercomes to an end, the leaves are beginning to change and fall season is just around the corner. This also marks another important milestone for our young people – heading back to school for another year of learning and growing! More teachers, more friends, more projects, and yes – more HOMEWORK! Thankfully, because of caring people like you, our children and youth will have the support they need to help keep their grades on track and achieve success in school.

As you may know, most of our Clubs across Canada offer homework help during the after-school hours, especially for children and youth who need it most. Your support allows our clubs to purchase much needed supplies such as rulers, calculators, workbooks, computer software, and other resources that our young members need in order to succeed - and often don't have access to.

But that’s not all – your support of homework help programs also means our kids can receive valuable academic support that will ensure a positive and quality experience for learning and growth. As we move into September and the homework starts to inevitably pile up, many of our children and youth will have access to 1 on 1 support with trained staff and volunteer tutors. At our Clubs, they will also benefit from peer support and group work – providing them with the techniques they need to help them improve their study habits, reduce stress, encourage different learning styles and most importantly - have fun!

There is a growing consensus that today’s educational demands require us to think differently about what, when, where and how young people learn. This new mindset recognizes the importance of supplementing the education they receive in school with a variety of additional enriching and high-quality learning experiences – those which help to strengthen their basic skills, connect learning and assist participants in making changes in their own lives and the increasingly connected world around them.

Your support makes this possible.

We are so grateful for your continued support of our vital Homework Help programs.  Thank you for making a difference in the lives of young Canadians across the country. We look forward to providing you with more updates about our important work in the weeks ahead!
