Thank you for your generous support of Boys and Girls Clubs’ Homework Help programs. Most of our Clubs across Canada offer homework help during the after-school hours, especially for children and youth who need it most. Your support allows our clubs to purchase supplies such as rulers, calculators, workbooks, computer software, and other resources that our young members need in order to succeed.
A great example of a homework help program currently running in a number of our Clubs is the PowerUp! program. The PowerUp! program is a series of homework help sessions for kids ages 6-12. The sessions are run afterschool for an hour and a half, typically 2-3 times a week. During these sessions, kids have an opportunity to get academic support through a wide variety of approaches that will ensure a positive and quality experience for learning and growth. Kids have access to 1 on 1 support with trained staff and volunteers, as well as learning opportunities through peer support and group work. They also have access to computers and the Internet to help create a stronger connections for learning. The program not only helps kids with their homework, but teaches techniques to help them improve their study habits, reduce stress, encourage different learning styles and most importantly - have fun while doing it!
We are grateful for your continued support of our vital Homework Help programs. Thank you for making a difference in the lives of young Canadians across the country.
We look forward to providing you with more updates about our important work in the weeks ahead!
