Thank you for your generous support of Boys and Girls Clubs’ Homework Help programs. Most of our Clubs across Canada offer homework help during the after-school hours, especially for children and youth who need it most. Your support allows our clubs to purchase supplies such as rulers, calculators, workbooks, computer software, and other resources that our young members need in order to succeed.
The Homework Help program at the Boys and Girls Club of Lethbridge, Alberta, for example, focuses on one-on-one academic support and tutoring, and computer safety. The Club began this program because many of their members were not getting the individual attention and support they needed in school.
One of the key elements of this Homework Help program is computer safety, primarily on the Internet. The Club teaches children how to safely browse the web and how to avoid on-line predators. The tools and guidance provided allows their young members to recognize the dangers, and to use the Internet safely for both school and social purposes.
Seven year-old Fernando at the Lethbridge Club said this about the Homework Help program: “I love Homework Help because we do fun stuff. We did book reports. I like to play on the computers and I like to do homework.”
We are grateful for your continued support of our vital Homework Help programs. Thank you for making a difference in the lives of young Canadians across the country.
We look forward to providing you with more updates about our important work in the weeks ahead.
