Thank you for your support to Boys and Girls Clubs of Canada’s (BGCC) Homework Help program. With your generous support, we are able to assist children and youth nationally in their quest for academic success.
BGCC is pleased to share that we recently succeeded in securing Giant Tiger as a new corporate funder to our Homework Help program. In August, we launched Giant Tiger Giant Steps, a homework support program for children in grades 7 and 8 (12-14 years old).
Giant Tiger Giant Steps offers opportunities for young people to complete homework and receive tutoring in a supportive environment. By engaging kids at an earlier age, Club staff can help prepare them for the rigors of high school, and ensure they are well-positioned to meet academic demands. Giant Steps also encourages young people to build relationships with Club staff, their peers, and mentors, and develop communication and leadership skills.
Thanks to Giant Tiger’s donation, 14 Boys and Girls Clubs across the country were able to run the Giant Steps program in 2017/2018.
“With the Giant Tiger Giant Steps program, children will benefit from improved literacy and numeracy during a critical age—grades seven and eight,” Boys and Girls Club Executive Director.
Thank you again for your generosity to the Homework Help program!
