We have recently begun working with the David Rundle Trust, a North Devon based charity (Reg. Charity No. 1099472) which has, over the last 14 years, focussed on bringing a better life to people in the northern province of Rwanda, through various projects - including the need to support better educational opportunities.
You can find out more about the David Rundle Trust and its current work at www.davidrundletrust.co.uk
The education system in Rwanda prevously used French as its medium of instruction - a legecy dating back to colonial times - but in recent years this has been superceeded by English. However, due to limitations on funding, the country suffers from te perennial problem of shortages of appropriate text books and other reading materials.
With our forthcoming first shipment of books under our "Books by the pallet load for African children" project, we will - over the next few weeks - together with our project partner Book-Cycle of Exeter - collate a suitable range of quality re-usable text books and reading books for dispatch to Rwands.
