Develop Life Skills Through Sport for 300 children

In every competition there is always a champions that has been fighting through difficult times. In our project, the champions are those who committed and strive to be a better person day by day. It takes a lot of work and commitment to be the champions. We know that practice futsal is not enough to prepare our kids and youngsters as a champions in their future. They have to learn many things. Based on their aspiration, we create the class of the champions, series of session where children in marginalized community get the opportunity to learn new skills and knowledge. We run the class in community and also at our center

To join the class, children have to apply and showing their interest to learn. They follow session of English class, financial literacy, digital class, such as microsoft office and design class. For these kids, it is a rare opportunity as they don't get it at their school. There are 22 kids from 5 community around Jakarta and Bekasi that join the biweekly class at our center. English session in community run for the past 10 weeks with 40 children in 4 community participate. They show commitment and willing to learn more, they are fighting to be a champion for themselves.

We want to share one of the story of our champion. Sam, 15 years old boy who has join the project since 2020. After two years follow the regular training session, he receive a scholarship to join futsal academy in Jakarta in 2022. He become more confident through the process. So confident as he become the coach assistant in the futsal academy, coaching younger goalkeeper. In our project, Sam also voluntary give training for younger goalkeeper in U-15 team that participate in a futsal tournament for marginalized community. With his support, the U-15 team win the third position.

Last but not least, we could run the project because there are people who wants to be a volunteer. These people are junior high school students, college student, and professionals who share their knowledge and give their time to make it happen.
