Happy new year 2022! Thank you so much for your support all this time. We continue the program and survive 2021 with gratitude. We able to bring the happiness for children in community, give them alternative activity, spirits, and positive energy through futsal. We are glad that all children we reached stays healthy until now. The regular training conducted every two weeks in 8 communities and reached 337 children by the end of the year.
Beside the regular training, we prepare Indonesia girls team to participate in Street Child World Cup (SCWC) 2022 which will be held in Doha, Qatar on October 2022. The event suppose to happen in March but being postponed after increase of Covid cases. The girls not only playing soccer in the event, but also speak up their voice about child rights, about girls issue in Indonesia, hoping for the country awareness in protecting children and girls.
We also have a good news to share. The Van has arrived! We want to say thank you to anyone who gave donation for the Van through GlobalGiving. About a month ago, someone gave direct donation to us, a van to support the training program. We named it "Mobil Sahabat". "Mobil" means car or van and "Sahabat" means close friends in Bahasa Indonesia. A car that given by a friend, to reach children who also our friend. so we could be friendly to everyone. With the van, we could reduce our cost of transportation to bring all the equipment and soon we will have two new community join the program. Van-tastic!
It has been a month in 2022 and we planned to do the training session once a week. However, we have a little doubt due to increase of Covid cases in Jakarta. Children are waiting for the session. Most of them said that having physically activity is good for their mental health. They also said that they learn new things through the discussion after the training. Most important of all, we can share happiness.
Let's hope that everyone stays healthy both physically and mentally! Be happy and stay healthy!
