Hello! Since our last report update the children at Dayspring Home have gotten to see their home receive both a wonderful "face-lift" as well as a replenishment of school, bedding, nutrition, and personal hygiene supplies thanks to the generous financial and time donations we have received from Global Giving and from our local volunteers.
Renovations and home repairs:
One of the top priorities of the staff at Dayspring Home is to ensure a home for the children that is both safe and clean. Part of the funds that we have raised have gone towards maintaing this priority. Firstly, the children's bathrooms have been re-painted and thoroughly cleaned, eliminating any water damage or rust that if left unattented, would have required costly repairs or replacements in the future. Secondly, the playground equitment that we have at Dayspring Home has been coated with a new coat of paint to ensure they remain safe and rust-free for the children to play on. Finally, the summer rains have caused some paint, mud, and water stains on the buildings at Dayspring Home. The funds we have raised have permitted the entire structures to be coated with a fresh and clean coat of paint that the staff and children are all very proud of.
Essential replenishment of supplies:
Your generous donations have also allowed us to continue our restocking of essential hygiene, clothing, bedding, and food/nutrition supplies for the children. Through this fundraising, we have purchased new sleeping mats, pillows and pillowcases, blankets and quilts, underwear, soaps, laundry detergents, coconut oil, chapati powder, rice, and many other essential bulk food used for nutritious cooking and meal preparation.
